2023 Ode to Endangered and Extinct Languages at Allison Gallery at Panola College, Carthage, Texas
Central Kalapuyan was a Kalapuyan language indigenous to the central and southern Willamette Valley in Oregon in the United States. (wiki) Last spoken in 1954 with the death of John B. Hudson. Some attempts were made to record the language in a Latin-based alphabet. This is problematic, but the best evidence was left by a recorder named Melville Jacobs and later analyzed by Jonathan Banks.
